System information in SL 10.1

One of the many things new KDE and Linux users complain about is their inability to find basic information about their system. Well, they shouldn't despair any longer – SUSE Linux 10.1 will contain a custom-developed KIO slave providing all the needed info (sysinfo:/).

It provides information such as CPU, memory, disks, network status etc.

From the which-OS-are-you-club

Since it seems extremely en vogue today and because it was fun as well... here's my result:

You are Debian Linux. People have difficulty getting to know you. Once you finally open your shell they're apt to love you.

I might even try Debian one day, for now I'll stick with SUSE Linux ;)

LinuXchange

LinuXchange is a yearly Linux conference for users, developers and admins held in the city where I live, Olomouc. This year, I'll be doing a presentation on "KDE - desktop for everyone", general KDE introduction with focus on Kiosk and similar features.

Gantt chart printing in TaskJuggler IDE

So I decided the other day that it would be nice to have an option to print the Gantt chart through an external PostScript generator, tjx2gantt. You can see the result below:

What is left to implement is the ability to switch between a normal printout and a poster-like one. I guess the latter is more useful for larger schedules spanning several pages.
